You know what it’s like, on the practice range your shots are perfect but when you get on the course the ball seems to have a mind of its own. Of course it is not the balls 'mind' that affects it but your own, and it’s not only golfers that it happens to.
This programme works with any sports, team or individual, such as Golf, Tennis, Football, Rugby, etc.
Using our programme we will help you overcome those mental ‘blocks’ plus much more. Teaching you to control anxiety levels, improve your concentration, stimulate controlled aggression at the right times, enhance your motivation, instil self-confidence and inhibit psychological factors that may be spoiling your performance.
By working on a number of areas, such as relaxation, focus, imagery, and so on, all of which enable hypnosis to make a significant impact in the development of mental training skills for sportsmen and women. It helps sports people develop the techniques required to perform to the best of their ability building concentration, confidence, and willpower, all essential for optimum performance
We do not teach the physical techniques of a sport, We can assist an athlete perfect a technique but the correct technique must be known to the athlete before work begins. What we do is assist with developing the correct mental attitudes and skills to enable the sports person to practice and to perform at their best.
A full programme may take between four and six sessions, the first session lasting up to one and a half to two hours depending upon the problems which come to light, the following sessions depend upon the strategy required. For greatest effect only one aspect is normally worked on in each session.
Following the first session a programme is worked out with the client and anyone else involved, such as a coach or trainer, which is tailored specifically to their requirements.
This programme will be formulated by determining which of the following strategies the individual sports man or woman requires:
Enhancement of sensory awareness and muscle control.
Increase in concentration, control internal dialogue, and decrease awareness of unimportant external stimuli.
Control of anxiety, anger and emotionality.
Enhancement of motivation and enthusiasm.
Increase in energy, feelings of invigoration, and endurance.
Enhancement of performance skill.
Increase in self-esteem, confidence, and self-efficacy.
Control of perception of time and focus on the present experience (time contraction or expansion).
Resolution of unconscious blocks or conflicts.
Management of discomfort.
